Living in Cayman

The Cayman Islands comprise three islands: Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Grand Cayman is the largest and most populated, located just 500 miles south of Miami. Grand Cayman is approximately 22 miles long, from east to west, and a maximum of eight miles wide. The PwC office is located in Camana Bay on the island of Grand Cayman.

For many years, the prosperity of the Cayman Islands depended largely on the earnings of Caymanian seamen. The turtle industry was also an important source of export income at one time. Now tourism and financial services are the pillars of the economy.

Tourism thrives along the famous white sands of Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman. As a major cruise ship port of call, Grand Cayman welcomes anywhere from 2,000–12,000 visitors daily.

The financial services industry on the Island is well established and provides a base for mutual funds, international banks, insurance companies and trust operations. PwC Cayman Islands focusses on financial service clients and provides an excellent environment for those seeking to build their career in this industry. We have more than 175 staff, including 14 partners who bring their expertise and talent to this exciting profession.

The Cayman Islands boast a social lifestyle influenced by the various nationalities that make up the more than 55,000 inhabitants. Keeping active is easy with recreational and competitive teams in rugby, cricket, floor hockey and golf, to name a few. Of course, water sports, including swimming, diving, fishing and sailing, are favourite pastimes. PwC Cayman partners and staff have a great sense of community and participate in several team sports as well as community projects; whether it’s a charity fundraiser or fun run, we get involved. From Pirates Week to the Sea Swim, something is always going on, providing a reason to get out and enjoy the fair weather.
