Soo-Hwan Park, Tax managing partner

Soo-Hwan Park is the managing partner of tax services. He has led the tax practice since July 2008. Mr. Park has extensive experience in advising on corporate and international taxation, tax appeals, tax planning and restructuring with a particular on Japanese clients and financial institutions in Korea. Mr. Park joined Samil PwC in 1984 and worked at PwC Tokyo office in 1986 and 1987. He worked for the Bank of Korea and the Office of Bank Supervision ( presently Financial Supervisory Service) for five years prior to joining Samil PwC.

Mr. Park has been active in advising government and public organizations with tax legislation and administration. Presently he serves as one of the private sector's advisors of the Tax Policy Development & Review Committee in the Ministry of Finance & Strategy and the National Tax Statistics Committee of the National Tax Service. He is also an advisor of the Korea Institute of Public Finance.and Vice Chairman of the Korea Tax Research Forum.

He received awards from the President, the Commissioner of NTS and the Governor of Financial Supervisory Service in recognition of his contribution to the development of National Tax Policy and Administration.

Mr. Park holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Yeungnam University and master and doctor's degree in tax and accounting which he received from the International Business School of Hongik University.
