New partner admissions signal PwC’s investment in talent and new market developments

PwC announces that four talented people have joined PwC’s leadership team. Effective 1 July 2016, Mark Simmons, Edward Kerich and Emma Schofield have been admitted to PwC Kenya’s partnership. Moses Nyabanda has been admitted to the PwC Rwanda partnership.

Their leadership reflects PwC’s commitment to distinctive client service. Edward and Moses are partners in PwC’s Assurance practice while Emma and Mark are partners in PwC’s Advisory line of service.

Mark leads PwC’s Advisory practice in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Zambia. Mark is on secondment from PwC UK and brings more than 25 years in consulting and industry experience in Europe, having worked across industries with a focus on Strategy and Operation Performance Improvement. Mark’s leadership of our Advisory business is part of our larger commitment to deliver integrated solutions to our clients wherever they do business in Africa. He is also the regional partner leader of our Strategy& business, PwC’s integrated strategy consulting business.

Edward leads the PwC Internal Audit Practice in Kenya. His experience includes external and internal audit, risk management, IT risk assurance, regulatory compliance and business controls advisory. He has worked with multinational entities in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Sudan and the United Kingdom. His experience in providing risk assurance services to our clients reflects our commitment to serving these entities’ unique needs.

Moses will be based in Rwanda where he will lead private sector audit engagements and advise clients on complex accounting matters. He has over 14 years’ experience with PwC’s Assurance practice in Kenya and the UK. He works with clients in high-growth sectors including multinational consumer goods and financial services institutions, family-owned businesses and private companies. Many of his clients operate regionally and in Rwanda.

Emma was most recently a member of PwC UK’s international development team in London and she has been instrumental in developing and leading programmes across private sector development and climate change, focusing on Africa. Her areas of focus include programmes addressing inclusive business, impact investing, health and SME development.
