Graduate Recruitment 2009 – 32 Graduates recruited by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
PricewaterhouseCoopers has this year taken on board 32 graduate recruits in Kenya, through its 2009 Graduate Recruitment programme.
These graduates are from both local and international universities including University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, JKUAT, Maseno, Moi University, Strathmore, USIU and Rhodes University in South Africa. These are part of more than 250 new recruits employed across the firm's practices in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, Mauritius and Angola.
Kuria Muchiru Country senior partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers, commented
‘We are proud to have on board 32 of the brightest graduates straight from various universities. We focus on bringing diverse backgrounds and we look for all round achievers who are agile and ready to embrace the PricewaterhouseCoopers culture and build their career with the firm.”
The new joiners will have an opportunity to gather diverse experience with the wide portfolio of the firm’s clients as they join different lines of service – Advisory, Assurance, Tax, and Internal Firm Services. The annual Graduate recruitment programme seeks to recruit young promising talent in the market. The process begins with presentations about the firm in the local universities after which the applicants go through a rigorous process including aptitude tests, written and oral interviews. For the second year, PwC has used the firm’s e-recruitment web based platform to enhance the process.
Kuria Muchiru Country senior partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers, commented: ‘Despite the current difficult business environment, we continue to invest in our business and manage the people pipeline through adequate resourcing to serve our clients both in the short term and in the longer term.”
Kuria Muchiru Country senior partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers, added:
“As the long-term impact of people decisions taken during the economic downturn begins to be felt, the winners and losers in the war for talent are starting to reveal themselves - with those who continued to focus on investment and employee engagement emerging as clear leaders.”
