PwC Asian Tax and Advisory Webcast Series - Japan Tax Reform

This webcast is available from 26 April to 25 October.

Our Japan tax partners will cover a variety of topics including an update on the state of the Japanese economy, recent legislative changes and recent audit activity.

In particular, they will focus on the following topics:

• Reductions in corporate rates;
• New "base broadeners" especially the new limitations on the use of net operating loss ("NOL") carryforwards;
• New "earnings stripping" rules which can limit interest deductions;
• Recent audit activity including focus on finding permanent establishments and the use of treaty information exchange mechanisms during audits;
• New NOL rules; and
• Treaty update.

With respect to many of these items, in addition to the general tax impact of such items they will discuss the financial statement (FAS 109) impact of these changes.

Finally, they will provide their views on likely further legislative activity including the likely increase in consumption tax rates.

This will be a 1 hour webcast including a Q&A session.
