The PwC Japan Group appointed Koichiro Kimura as its new chairman and territory senior partner effective July 1, 2016. Mr. Kimura, who will succeed Hiroyuki Suzuki upon completion of his term on June 30, is also currently CEO of PricewaterhouseCoopers Aarata,

In accepting his appointment, Mr. Kimura commented as follows: “The Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and other rapid technological advances are transforming the social and business landscapes. Japanese corporations must meet these challenges to generate further growth. As the leader of PwC Japan Group, I will utilize the PwC network of firms in 157 countries and more than 200,000 people to provide strategy through execution for our PwC clients, while endeavoring to build trust in society and solve important problems.”

Profile of Koichiro Kimura

Born in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka, on May 4, 1963. He is a Japanese certified public accountant.

Education:  March 1987 Graduated from the School of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University with a bachelor’s degree in economics
Career: October 1986 Joined Aoyama Audit Corp.
  March 1990 Registered with JICPA
  September 1993 Seconded to Price Waterhouse in Chicago, US
  July 1997 Returned to Aoyama Audit Corp. and admitted as a partner
  July 2000 Admitted to partnership of ChuoAoyama Audit Corp. as a representative partner
