Hirofumi Gomi to lead new PwC Japan Research Institute

TOKYO - 28 September 2009 - PricewaterhouseCoopers Japan (PwC Japan) has appointed Hirofumi Gomi as Chairman of its new PricewaterhouseCoopers Research Institute (Japan).
Mr. Gomi was formerly the Commissioner of Japan's Financial Services Agency, will take up his new role on 1 October 2009.

PwC Japan has established this new institute under the leadership of Mr. Gomi to strengthen its ability to develop new thought leadership on global financial and capital markets issues. Combining the knowledge and scope of PwC's worldwide network with Mr. Gomi's experience will enable PwC Japan to deliver more effective and insightful analysis and make a greater contribution to the thinking that drives the development of the financial and capital markets.

Mr. Gomi will additionally be available to work with other PwC firms in the Asia-Pacific region, and PwC global Financial Services Leadership Team.
