Introduction of Japanese Business Services

Japanese FDI to Switzerland has more than doubled over the past 5 years reaching a total stock of $2 billion in 2011 and yet still only represents about 1% of Japanese yearly outbound FDI flows.

A mature and stable economy, Switzerland, is predicted to grow a conservative 1.7% yearly average growth rate for the next 5 years. It still has one of the highest GDP per capita in the world. As a small country with a wealthy population and thriving financial sector, Switzerland holds about half of global offshore wealth and boasts the lowest added value tax in Europe (8.0%) . Consequently, Switzerland has a very unique and tight-knit business and regulatory environment, in which PwC can help plot your course.

With 15 locations concentrated in such a small territory, PwC is the largest professional services firm in Switzerland and is also one of the most multi-lingual PwC firms in the global network. They serve about 50 Japanese companies and as of 2009 have set up a special Japan Desk, which specializes in international tax, in addition to a wide range of business advisory services.
