PwC Jamaica appoints new Senior Partner

Kingston, Jamaica, 24 June 2009 - PricewaterhouseCoopers today announced the appointment of Maxim G. Rochester to the post of Territory Senior Partner, with effect from 1 July 2009. He replaces Everton McDonald, who retires from the firm on 30 June 2009 after twenty-nine years as a partner, eight of which he served as Territory Senior Partner.

Max, who joined what was then Price Waterhouse as a trainee in 1972 has had an outstanding professional career with the firm.  In 1978, he moved to the New York office and attained the rank of Audit Manager before returning to the Jamaican firm in 1982. He was admitted to the partnership in 1985 and his demonstration of leadership skills and a strong client service ethic, coupled with his technical ability, propelled him in 1995 to the position of partner in charge of Auditing Services, a role he performed with distinction. In 2001, he progressed to his present position  Managing Partner, with primary responsibility for the firm’s finances, information systems and administration.

“As the Jamaican economy and, by extension, our clients and the firm confront the challenges of the global recession, Max, with his vast experience and knowledge of our business and clients, is the right person at the right time to lead the firm in providing innovative solutions to our clients’ business issues and in positioning clients to achieve greater success,” said outgoing Senior Partner, Everton McDonald.

Max holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of the West Indies (1972) and is a Fellow of both the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ). During his long professional career, he has served on the Technical Standards Committee of the ICAJ and has been a frequent presenter at ICAJ seminars. In addition, he has participated in many firm-sponsored training and management development programmes, both locally and overseas.

He is married to Diana and they have two daughters. His main hobbies are boating and tennis.
