PwC Technical Accounting and Corporate Reporting update for Non-Executive Directors and Audit Committee members

The workshops held in Guernsey on 16 January 2017 and in Jersey on 17 January 2017 were of particular interest to Audit Committee members and other Non-Executive Directors wishing to further develop their understanding of accounting and corporate reporting developments in the UK.

The workshops focused on current accounting developments in the UK, providing a technical update on certain areas as detailed below:

Overview

The session examined the implications of the most significant accounting developments for companies funds and their Boards. Amongst the areas the workshops addressed are:

  • corporate governance developments impacting the Audit Committee
  • corporate reporting
  • significant developments in IFRS and UK GAAP
  • areas of focus for the accounting regulator 
  • the audit tendering and rotation agenda
  • investor hot topics
  • EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
