PwC has further strengthened its leadership team with two key promotions aimed at meeting ongoing growth opportunities here in the Channel Islands.

Newly admitted Partner, Roland Mills, and recently appointed Director, David Carney, will play vital roles in facilitating the sustained growth PwC continues to experience in the local market.

Roland Mills has been with the network for 17 years, relocating from PwC in Pretoria to Guernsey in 2001. An accomplished Asset Management leader, Roland has a personal focus on the private equity and alternatives fund sector in particular. Internally, within the PwC network, Roland also leads PwC’s global Private Equity industry IFRS accounting focus group. The scope of his significant international experience gained across regions such as South Africa and Latin America, coupled with his ability to foster dynamic, collaborative relationships, means Roland is perfectly placed to spearhead the firm as local demand for these services continues to increase.

David Carney, an expert in Financial Systems, Controls Assurance and Data Analytics, joined PwC UK in 2006, where he led the Data Assurance team for PwC across the South & East region. David relocated to Jersey in 2013 as part of the local firm’s continued investment in its Risk Assurance practice, which he leads across the Islands. He brings a unique breadth of experience across a broad range of clients and industries from his roots as a Chartered Accountant and subsequently spending 16 years specialising in the areas of Technology Assurance and Information Security, Controls Assurance, Internal Audit and Data Analytics.  David is highly skilled in dealing with such challenges as those currently faced by the Channel Islands and its industries, particularly across the Financial Services and digital sectors.

Commenting on this enhancement of the leadership team, Senior Partner, Brendan McMahon said:

"These appointments are reflective of the robust growth we continue to experience in the local market. Both promotions also reinforce our ongoing commitment to having the best capabilities available to help our clients be successful, stay ahead and add value to their businesses. Our clients continue to pursue operational excellence and strategic growth initiatives, and Roland and David will differentiate the firm in how we work with clients in this regard.”
