Based in PwC CI’s Jersey office, James supports a wide variety of assurance and advisory services within the island and also further afield.
On graduating from university, James joined PwC’s legacy firm Coopers & Lybrand in London as a trainee accountant, working with them until he moved back to Jersey in Spring of 2007 with his growing family. He spent four years working for KPMG in the Channel Islands before making the decision to move back to PwC, which he did in March 2011.
The majority of James’ time is focused on supporting his audit clients who have covered many areas of financial services, but are now predominantly in private equity and other alternative funds industries. James has significant experience working in highly controlled environments (which have included trading desks, broker-dealers) having been part of PwC UK’s London’s Banking & Capital Markets group for nearly a decade.
In addition to his audit clients, James also supports clients in an advisory capacity and has been working on an international Anti-Money Laundering assignment in Poland and the United States for much of this year. He is also experienced in delivering third-party controls reporting, regulatory reviews and other controls / process related projects. James is an active member of the main committee of the Jersey Funds Association, and regularly participates in local industry events.
James was educated at St. Michael’s before attending Canford School in Dorset. On leaving school he read Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh where he graduated with first class honours. James spends much of his free time with his three children, Emily (nearly eight), Sophie (six) and Alex (four). He also enjoys sailing, rugby, most other sports and travelling.
James is focused on making sure his clients get the value and support they really need from our teams, drawing on his extensive experience and contacts locally and across our global PwC network. He is also looking forward to continuing to develop existing and new relationships and promoting the Channel Islands offering in the wider and ever more competitive international marketplace.
