Get a unique insight into the world of professional services. Make the most of your drive and initiative on our tailored programme (approx 3 weeks).
You will develop valuable business skills and this programme will help you discover whether a career in accountancy is the right step for you.
We want to see you develop your business skills, strengths and interests and this programme will enable you not only to gain industry experience that will enhance your employability, but also:
PwC aspires to be an employer of choice and as such selects people who are passionate and driven towards their chosen career. We are looking for future employees who are motivated and committed to their chosen profession and this will always stand out during an interview. To help us assess a person's motivation and commitment, we focus on students with an excellent academic track record and students who are able to show how they have used their initiative and team-working skills before and during their years at university.
We are encouraged when students display to us that they have taken the time to research their chosen business area, showing that they are fully committed to their career path.
We want to hear from the most talented all-round graduates. We would like to hear from those that have outstanding academic achievements, gaining at least 300 UCAS points or a minimum of 32 International Baccalaureate points and if you are a graduate, predicted at least a 2:1 degree. The degree doesn't necessarily have to be in maths or accountancy, in fact we accept students from many disciplines. We also want team players, creativity, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong sense of responsibility and a natural intellectual curiosity and appetite that will drive a business career.
Our internships run each year from June to September. Each intern will be employed for around three weeks working in all aspects of our business. The intern will enjoy the same experience and opportunities as our graduate recruits, and will get exposure to a variety of work and clients whilst adding a valuable contribution to the firm.
During the three weeks, interns will spend time working in our assurance, tax and advisory departments. Whichever business area a student is interested in, they get a real taste of life at the heart of the firm, working with other graduate trainees and experienced professionals on current and exciting client projects.
The interns are not thrown in at the deep end straight away, there is a lot of support from the teams they work with and they will benefit from general and specific technical training that gives our interns all the skills they need to successfully complete their internship.
It is a steep learning curve and interns will certainly feel stretched and challenged at times — but they have all the support they need for their internship to be successful. The interns are given the opportunity to work with someone who's 'been there, done that' on the programme before and PwC are there to fully support the interns throughout their internship.
Our summer internships offer our interns a real insight into what a graduate career with PwC would be like and helps the intern understand and identify if this is the career for them. If it is — students could return to university with a graduate job offer for the following September.
Working with PwC as a summer intern helps students gain the skills to fully prepare them for our world if they decide to join us as a graduate trainee. It also allows us to identify future graduates who have the intellectual curiosity and appetite to pursue a business career with us.
We continually strive to offer an excellent intern experience and it’s the quality of our offering that attracts both summer interns and graduates to PwC. If you feel you have the credentials we are looking for, complete the student application form and return it to our Human Resources department.
