Paul Jones, Senior Audit Manager
"The thing I like most about working at PwC is that everyday is different and I get to manage my own time. In addition to my own audit clients I'm often dealing with requests for information from other firms around the world or helping out other teams internally with technical queries. I'm also heavily involved with the implementation of our new audit software, Aura, which is a big project for me and the office over the next year. I'm always amazed at how much I'm still learning, even after 15 years, and I like that we are always being encouraged to find new and better ways to do things and to think for ourselves. Sometimes the hours can be long, but there is also great satisfaction from doing a good job, meeting client deadlines and then going out for a drink afterwards. But ultimately what makes it a special place to be is the great people I get to work with."
Phil Morris, Senior Manager - Indirect Tax
Since joining PwC in the Isle of Man in 2009, I have enjoyed the combination of the Big 4 working experience in a small and friendly office environment. I work on a diverse range of clients across a broad spectrum of industries so there is a lot of variety and challenge which always keeps the job interesting. Working in the Isle of Man offers the chance to work with large multinationals giving direct access to key decision makers, whilst also working with local businesses allowing a more personalised working relationship. PwC provides support to its staff and there is a genuine "open door" policy meaning everybody knows each to engender good working relationships across service lines and grades. Outside of work, PwC actively encourages staff to get involved in community and charity work, sporting life and promoting local interests. The Isle of Man has something for everyone and it is never far away.
James Cadamy, Advisory Manager
"The knowledge and coaching provided by senior staff, as well as the diverse nature of the clients I worked on, helped to build on the technical knowledge obtained while studying for the ACA qualification and ultimately helped me become a Chartered Accountant. Throughout my training contract I had the formal and informal support needed to give me the confidence in both my job and my examinations. Since qualifying, the expansion of PwC on the Isle of Man provided a wide variety of options for developing my career, with opportunities in the audit, tax and advisory departments. Following my move into the advisory department, PwC have provided continued support in my work and both internal and external training, enabling me to choose the direction of my future career within the firm."
Johann Marais, Actuarial Manager
“I've found my work experience with PwC Isle of Man invaluable. I've been able to work on large and small projects and clients from a variety of industries as part of large and small multi disciplinary teams both on the island and within the wider PwC network of firms. This work has been diverse and challenging but in equal parts rewarding and enjoyable.
I received great support while doing the actuarial exams. This included a generous allowance of study days, flexibility around planning study days to attend tutorials and exams and open access to discuss any concerns with my mentor.
I can truly recommend PwC Isle of Man as a great place to work.”
Helene Quaye, Audit Manager
“Training with PwC offers a unique opportunity for self-development. At every stage of my career with PwC I have been encouraged to perform to the best of my ability. There has been a clear path of progression through the firm, first during the years spent training and afterwards through the various qualified levels. The firm has offered it's support at every stage of my career, whether it be by being flexible with training needs, helping to arrange a temporary secondment overseas or even as small as a colleague offering help when you are busy. Above all the firm is sociable and friendly, welcoming new comers with enthusiasm.”
Katie Holmes, Senior Associate (Audit)
“The PwC experience offers you a fantastic start to a diverse and exciting career. Training with PwC is very rewarding, as the work experience you gain from working on multiple audit engagements with different audit teams complements the studying you do.
The studying is very demanding and challenging, but both the tutors and your colleagues in the office provide you with a great deal of support and guidance to get you through the exams. You start at PwC in a group of new associates and you are quickly integrated into the rest of the office which offers a lively and sociable environment for you to gain invaluable work experience.
PwC offers you everything you need to begin your journey in your accountancy career and if you are prepared to work hard and be part of the team, you will quickly experience the rewards that this company has to offer.”

"PwC Isle of Man, part of one of the world’s largest professional service firms, offers a unique opportunity to work with a variety of clients in various industries from your first day of employment. During my initial six months I had already worked with a number of businesses in such fields as: the environment, life assurance, banking, stock broking, manufacturing and fund administration. One is frequently expected to take on new and challenging tasks, but help is always on hand. The firm provides unrivalled support and flexibility with regards to examinations and study leave, which are a key component to a career in accountancy. There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere here, and I have found the numerous office social events a good way to develop great friendships and really become part of this enthusiastic and exciting firm."

Kelsey Purvis, first year ACCA student (Audit)
"Working at PwC is a great opportunity as it allows you to develop skills and study towards a world recognised qualification. I currently study on the Island which I find very enjoyable as I have a lot of support from PwC and have plenty of time to revise for my exams. I think the combination of training at work and on Island works extremely well as the knowledge and experience I gain from each of these can be applied to one another. Since joining PwC I have felt very welcomed as everyone is extremely friendly and approachable and I look forward to enhancing my career with this firm."
Debapriya Chatterjee - Senior Associate (Audit)
International Transfer from Bahrain to PwC Isle of Man in July 2008 to September 2011
“Our experiences and time spent over our period in the Isle of Man.
It is one of the most lovely and beautiful places in the world. It is very scenic and a perfect place to be with family. Whoever came over to the island to see us over the years said we do not need to go anywhere else to travel to see the world as we are based at such a lovely and beautiful place.
There is a perfect work life balance which we have enjoyed and people are very friendly and helpful in all perspectives.
Except for the cold winter, I think we will surely miss all the other things that we cherished over our period of stay on the Island.
It is one of the great offices to work for, where all the seniors and partners are very much approachable and friendly to work with.
Thanks a lot for giving us the opportunity to enjoy and have the memorable years of stay in this part of the world.”
