Pensions can be a difficult and complex area. A most effective way to ensure successful trusteeship is through suitable trustee training. Employers are required to arrange trustee training for each pension scheme trustee within six months of their appointment and at least every two years thereafter. Employers have until 1 February 2012 to arrange training for existing trustees. The compulsion to arrange training for trustees was put on a statutory footing on 1 February 2010.
