Learning and Development

Your personal and professional development is important to the Firm and, as a result, the Firm provides you with a variety of approaches which will enhance the skills and expertise of all those who join PwC. We want each individual to reach their full potential in the Firm and the support of high quality Learning & Development programmes is an important element in this. There is a wide range of programmes available covering all aspects of the skills needed to deal effectively with your clients, manage yourself and lead your teams.

The Centre for Learning & Development is made up of a team of L&D professionals specialising in both technical and non-technical training. Depending on what your technical background is e.g. auditing, tax, your training needs will be looked after by experts specialising in those areas. Your non-technical training will be managed by the Business & Management skills team that work to develop flexible, business-specific & timely learning interventions for you.

To maximise your development within the Firm you are asked to take responsibility for your own career development. A collaborative approach, between you and your manager, is adopted, each year, to identify your development needs, as part of the Firm’s performance appraisal process. It will then be agreed, again between you & your manager, how to approach these development needs so a mixture of on-the-job coaching/mentoring, attendance at continuing professional development events – either internally or externally, and / or attendance at one of the in-house development programmes will be discussed and agreed.
