I was attracted to PwC by the options it afforded me to utilise both my financial and IT skills in one role. I joined with an academic background in Finance obtained from my studies in the Dublin Institute of Technology (BSc Management with a finance major)and a few years experience in Technology and Telecoms.
I work in the Performance Improvement section of the Practice. My role as a member of the PI team is to help our clients attain increased performance by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of key processes, technologies and aspects of their organisational design. In order to do this, the Performance Improvement team apply strong project management and business analysis disciplines which we combine with specialist knowledge in the areas of finance, risk management, compliance, IT, business process analysis and operations.
My role has provided me with the opportunity to work with many of Ireland’s leading organisations and a number of high profile international companies. I have learnt a huge amount from this exposure and gained great insight into how different organisations and industries run their businesses and the challenges they face. This combined with the extensive training available to PwC employees has offered a challenging but very interesting learning curve.
My time in PwC has also been very positive in terms of the working environment. The firm works very hard to ensure that its people operate in a positive environment. Since our recent move to new offices in Spencer Dock, we enjoy really top class office space to work in with lots of extras such as a gym, restaurant and coffee areas.
