  • Strategic positioning of Ireland within the Global Digital Media Sector.
    • provision of in-depth series of reports on the Digital Media sector and sub-sectors - DTV, streaming, DAM, games consoles, digital cinema, digital music and web services; and
    • analysis of the digital media industry and recommendations on those sectors of most interest and relevance to Ireland.
  • Feasibility study on the establishment of a business-to-consumer online television network and streaming service (including preparation of an IM and identification of a number of potential strategic investors).

Financial Services


  • Assisted a PLC financial services executive team to validate strategic options for presentation to the Board.
  • Strategic review of the total performance of a financial services provider - made recommendations on the future direction to equity shareholders.
  • Worked with a large cross-functional team from a leading Financial Services Group to develop a Project Implementation Plan to underpin the Group strategy.
  • Strategic review of a financial services industry association, which included a review of the following:
    • The appropriateness of the association&
    • The effectiveness of the association&
    • The manner in which the association supports the industry and its membership base.
  • Prepared a report which examines the future skills needs of the International Financial Services sector and provided recommendations on the types of skills, education and research provision required to meet these needs.

Government and State Agencies


  • Strategic plan for the development of the Internationally Traded Services sector in Ireland on behalf of Enterprise Ireland. Report resulted in the publication of the Department of Enterprise Trade & Employment ITS 2007 Strategy document (concentrated on examination of new industry sectors).
  • Feasibility study on the proposed national Stadium and the various sporting facilities within the wider campus, including the National Acquatic Centre. Engaged by Campus and Stadium Ireland Development Limited (&
  • Completed the strategy based portion of BASIS, the government plan to deliver integrated public services to businesses over the Internet.
  • Carried out a pilot study to examine the administrative burden placed on companies in Ireland as a result of regulation, with Forfas, on behalf of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE). PwC managed an extensive intelligence gathering programme of expert panels and interviews with small, medium and large companies, to determine the costs associated with a number of specific regulations. The findings of the project fed into the Business Regulation Forum report prepared for the DETE.

Technology and Life Sciences


  • Market studies on behalf of technology venture capitalist to validate new technologies in US and Europe.
  • Market studies on behalf of technology venture capitalist to validate the proposed global market sizing.
  • Strategic Development Plan for online start-up (company has just moved into profit three years later).
  • Business Plan formulation for a number of life sciences start-ups, for fundraising purposes.

Not-For-Profit and Charities


  • Organisational review for a large religious order involved in the operation of several hospitals, both acute and continuing care facilities.
  • Led an assignment with the management team of a large provider of medical and community based support services to develop their four year service plan for submission to government.
  • Strategic review of a credit union to assess the current status of the organisation in light of externalities, such as the Credit Union Bill 1996.
