Corporate Responsibility

Corporate responsibility has evolved far beyond simple business philanthropy. According to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, “Corporate responsibility no longer only refers to ‘giving and philanthropy’ but focuses more on the commitment of business to long-term economic, environmental and social sustainability – working with employees, their families, the community and society at large to improve long-term the quality of life of the communities in which we live and work.”

At its most basic, corporate responsibility is when businesses include social, environmental and economic considerations in their decisions and processes. But it is also about creating and applying innovative solutions to the challenges our society and environment face. This requires that all parts of any one business, such as PwC, work together and that difference businesses as well as other stakeholders and sections of the community collaborate to ensure the best possible outcome for everyone. In this way, businesses will build credibility and integrity as a trusted members of the community.
