Gábor Balázs, FССА, director

Gábor Balázs works as director of PwC. He has profound professional knowledge in using IFRS in the practice. He has been providing high level IFRS services to our customers since 2003. Between 2004 and 2006, he worked in the Central IFRS Group of PwC  in London where he assisted in the transition of several major PwC clients to IFRS. After returning to Hungary, he specialised in IFRS within the professional group offering accounting advisory services in Middle and Eastern Europe. In the past two years, he organised and held more than 30 IFRS trainings for PwC’s own employees and its Clients.
Miklós Novák, ACCA, auditor, senior manager

Miklós Novák joined 1999 the Budapest office of PwC. During his career he participated in the audit of several Hungarian and foreign companies who prepare their financial statements according to different – e.g. US GAAP or IFRS – accounting principles. Miklós provides audit services to companies, which operate in different industries (pharmaceutical industry, telecommunication, food processing industry and tobacco industry) and prepare IFRS financial statements. He has already published several articles on diverse IFRS topics. He is member of the central IFRS group and the Hungarian Technical Committee, which deals with answering audit issues. In addition to the above, he continues providing audit services to PwC’s international customers.
Katalin Szilágyi, FCCA, senior manager

Katalin Szilágyi is responsible for the professional training courses of the PwC's Academy. In addition, she is regular lecturer in IFRS and DipIFR seminars. Katalin is member of PwC’s IFRS accounting advisory group, she provides IFRS consultations to other PwC offices and assists in due diligence reviews.
Before joining PwC, she worked as manager of different Andersen assignments and held a responsible financial position at a leading pharmaceutical company.

Emőke Szántó-Kapornay, ACCA, Assistant manager:

Emőke has practical knowledge and experience mainly in the financial sector. She is expert in the field of financial instruments, since during her work experience she performed several IFRS and Hungarian audit for her banks, leasing companies and investment funds Clients.Emőke is having significant trainer experience as well, she is regularly tutoring in IFRS, Hungarian accounting and audit methodology trainings.She is teaching more subjects in ACCA Qualification and she is also leading tutor in ACCA DipIFR training. Emőke has joined Pricewaterhouse Coopers Kft in 2001 and after several years in audit department, she has joined PwC Academy, while she is still regularly contributing in audit engagements.

Ervin Berki, АССА, manager

Ervin is an experienced Assurance manager at PwC. With over 7 years of experience he has a keen understanding of IFRS. Ervin’s recent and relevant client experiences include managing full IFRS transition projects, providing advice letters on complex accounting issues and instructing IFRS to clients in various industries. He also serves as a treasury specialist, Ervin has brought many foreign currency and commodity risk management solutions to bear for a wide variety of companies.  These include development of risk management strategy, improvement of treasury processes, helping to achieve hedge accounting and performing valuation of complex derivatives.  In the past he performed several Hungarian and IFRS audit for his clients.
Gábor Halmosi, ACCA, auditor, assistant manager

Gábor has practical knowledge and experience mainly in the production industry and trade sector but his experience covers the energy sector too. During his work he performed several Hungarian, IFRS and US GAAP audit for his clients.
In addition, Gábor has wide-ranging experience as lecturer. He regularly holds courses in accounting and audit methodology and he has significant experience in teaching mathematical statistics, for example, at the University of Szeged.
Gábor joined Deloitte Kft. in 2006 where he gained audit experience before joining the audit and PwC's Academy at PwC.
