The story and questions from their crisis-year financial statements
In recent months we have received numerous signals from the marketplace indicating that investor interest in municipal solid waste management companies has intensified. We understand that the key driver behind this trend is that potential investors are risk-averse in the face of the volatile business environment and the public utility business model is perceived as relatively resilient to economic shocks.
In order to understand how the sector fared during the crisis (and to obtain at least a partial understanding of its current state), we analysed the financial statements of 74 Hungarian municipal solid waste management companies.
