PwC expands with four new partners and new service line leaders

PwC expands its management with four new partners from summer 2011. Three of these partners will be appointed internally, one arrives from Australia in order to support PwC Hungary in the expansion of its services in the future. Besides the appointment of the new partners, there will be new old colleagues in the Service Line Leader’s positions for the Advisory and Assurance services.
PwC proudly introduces its new partners:
Márta Hegedűsné Szűcs became a partner of PwC’s Assurance Department on July 1, 2011. After completing her studies as an economist specialized in finance, she joined our firm in 1995, and obtained ACCA qualifications in 1999. She became a registered auditor in Hungary in 2006. Márta is one of our firm’s most experienced Hungarian colleague both in the field of Hungarian and international accounting and auditing standards. She has also collected several years of experience in auditing companies listed on the New York and Hungarian Stock Exchange. Márta provides services to various companies, especially on the info communication and technology market but also has experience with manufacturing companies and in the energy sector. She is a key member of PwC’s Technology, Infocomm, Entertainment and Media (TICE) group, allowing her to leverage her great experience in that field. Besides her tasks at the firm she is spending most of her time with her family, with her husband and two children, she is a mother of a 14 year old girl and a 9 year old boy.
Dr. Dóra Máthé also became a partner of PwC’s Tax Advisory Department on July 1, 2011. Dóra has been working at PwC since 2002, and is responsible for Hungarian and international tax advisory for multinational companies. She completed her legal studies at the University of Miskolc, and obtained her Executive MBA diploma at the University of Bristol after her bar exam. Following a 2 year secondment in New York, where she was responsible for developing PwC’s Eastern European representative office, she returned to Hungary last year. Before joining PwC, she worked as a legal practitioner and tax advisor, and provided advisory services at – among others – KPMG for several years. Dóra is a member of PwC’s International Tax Structuring Network. She specializes in tax advisory services associated with corporate and other commercial rights, international investment consulting and international taxation. She is responsible for advisory services rendered to multiple multinational manufacturing and trading companies with branch offices in Hungary. Dóra is a member of PwC’s Consumer and Industrial Products and Service (CIPS), allowing her to best leverage her many years of experience. In her free time, Dóra enjoys travelling most of all and has spent four years in the United States for studies and secondment, among other places.
Andrea Major is leading the System & Process Assurance Department, and was appointed as a PwC partner from July 1, 2011. Andrea holds a degree in economics (MA), information technology (MSc) and is a CISA certified IT security auditor. She joined PwC as an IT auditor in 1997, then worked in PwC’s London practice between 2000 and 2003. During her time in London, Andrea worked in the SAP implementation and integration practice gaining expertise in the design and implementation of ERP systems and business process and security controls. Andrea has participated in numerous projects, primarily in the services (telecommunications, energy and utilities) sector, and in addition to that has experience from multiple financial and manufacturing sector projects. She has conducted and participated in several IT security audits, as well as process efficiency and business continuity projects.
David Williams joined the Budapest office of PwC from 1 June 2011 as a Tax Management and Accounting Services partner and will take over responsibility as TMAS Western sub-cluster leader and will concentrate on growing compliance delivery and consulting services as well as being the TMAS Leader for Hungary. David graduated from the University of Adelaide as a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Economics and he began his career at Arthur Andersen where he was appointed as a partner from a graduate in 10 years. Later his previous roles also included National Tax Leader for Mining, Energy & Utilities at Ernst & Young and Director of Taxation at Newmont Mining Australia. His special areas include tax consolidations, business combinations, IFRS and USGAAP Tax Accounting, effective management of tax functions and tax processes. His expertise crosses a number of industries; especially energy, utilities & mining and Financial services. David has 20 years tax technical, compliance and reporting experience. Prior to joining PwC David was a Tax Partner with E&Y based in Sydney Australia. He was the Oceania leader for Ta x Accounting and Risk Advisory Services. David will be joined in his stay in Budapest by his wife and daughter.
News Service Line Leaders of Advisory and Assurance Services
Rafal Krasnodebski will take over as the Advisory Services Line leader from 1st July 2011. Rafal has been working in Hungary as a Consulting Partner since July 1st 2010. Prior to this he was a Consulting Partner in PwC Poland, where he helped turn the Consulting Practice into one of the leading strategic and operational professional services providers in the country. Rafal’s major goal in Hungary will be to further develop the portfolio of client services offered by our Advisory practice.
Nick Kós will be the Assurance Leader for the Western Region based in Budapest from 1st July 2011. Nick previously headed PwC Hungary’s TICE (Technology, Information, Media and Entertainment) group until 2007 when he transferred to PwC in Warsaw where he held the position of CEE Assurance Clients and Markets Leader. Nick now returns from Moscow where he has been leading the Assurance business for the Eastern Region of CEE since the end of 2009.
