New leader for PwC Hungary’s assurance practice

Árpád Balázs (44) took over as territory assurance leader at PwC Hungary from Nick Kós, the firm’s CEO, as of 1 July 2013. In the future, Nick Kós will focus on his duties as the leader of PwC Hungary.

Árpád Balázs joined the firm 20 years ago after graduating from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences. Since his return from a two-year secondment to the UK in 1998, he has focused primarily on the financial services sector. In addition, he has also managed a number special projects in the financial sector, where his responsibilities included the due diligence review of several commercial banks and insurance companies in Hungary and the CEE region.

As a UK certified auditor (ACCA), a chartered accountant (ACA) and Hungarian registered auditor, he has served a number of the firm’s prestigious clients, including Generali, Groupama, Commerzbank, Trigránit and Futureal, and in recent years has been leading PwC Hungary’s Financial Services assurance practice and Industry Group.
