Réti, Antall and Partners Law Firm PwC Legal: new managing partner and new law firm member

Dr. Zoltán Várszegi (46) the former deputy of dr. László Réti (60) is appointed as the new managing partner of the Réti, Antall and Partners Law Firm PwC Legal, a Budapest law firm with 47 practising lawyers. Dr. Várszegi started his career as a trainee lawyer, later he worked as a bank lawyer and then he joined PricewaterhoseCoopers’ tax department. He has been working with the law firm since 2000. He later became a law firm member, and in recent years he has been involved in the management of the firm, beside László Réti. His professional activities are mainly focused on the development of international corporate structures, energy law transactions, civil lawsuits and tax litigation. Recently, he has gained reputation for representing his clients before the Court of Justice of the European Union.

As of July 1, dr. Zoltán Martonyi (41) has joined the Law Firm as a partner who returns to the place of his first traineeship after 22 years. Dr. Zoltán Martonyi started his legal career at Szecskay Law Office and then continued at Linklaters' Budapest and London offices. Between 2004 and 2008, Dr. Martonyi worked at Martonyi and Kajtár Baker & McKenzie as a partner. He led Baker & McKenzie's Bank, Financial and Capital Markets Group from 2006. He founded his own law firm in 2008. In recent years, he has been the leading legal adviser in the most significant finance and capital market transactions. As partner of Réti, Antall and Partners Law Firm PwC Legal, he will primarily focus on developing the corporate transaction and banking, financial and capital market business with a view to the Central and Eastern European region.

László Réti and György Antall started their cooperation as lawyers in 1987. Both László and György will continue to work at the Law Firm.
