• A look into the future of e-cars
  The expected development of the electric car segment in Hungary

  E-mobility in Hungary is practically non existent. Nevertheless large energy-industry players have already started raising e-mobility awareness. RWE, E-On and MVM are showing the way by introducing electric cars into their company fleet and starting to develop a charging station network in Budapest. Just recently the technical barriers of reaching the Hungarian capital from the western border were eliminated by building charging points between Vienna and Budapest - in Tatabánya and Győr.
  The most significant cooperation in Hungary, with the main goal of increasing public awareness of the numerous advantages of electric mobility and to trigger the development of the necessary infrastructure for electric vehicles, is the E-Mobility Network, operating with the initiation and coordination of Elmű-ÉMÁSZ. Even though the registration fee for purely electric vehicles is 0 HUF, direct government incentives are not available for e-cars, and there are no signs that such schemes will be introduced in the near future.

The majority of participants were senior vice-presidents, senior general managers, directors or other department heads from power and gas utilities, with interests covering supply, transmission, generation and trading.
