The US firm has rolled out a programme aimed at getting women together to network and learn.
The Women's Networking Circles are designed to provide access to role models, mentors and networks to management-level women. With more than 34 locations across the US and more than 3,000 participants, the circles provide women with opportunities to address professional and personal challenges, increase their organisational understanding of the firm, leverage networks and enhance communications.
The initiative was born from the recognition that networks are critical to career success. Networks provide access to information and new business leads, as well as support and guidance in achieving career goals. Research shows that exclusion from informal networks, and limited access to mentors can be barriers to advancement.
Members receive valuable career advice, expand skills, increase their knowledge of the firm's businesses and share best practices—all within a community of talented women. Each circle consists of women managers and directors who are paired with experienced partners who serve as circle advisors. Circle members meet regularly to exchange ideas, analyse their developmental issues and receive feedback and guidance as a group. They also advise and mentor each other as the relationships develop.
