The Gender Agenda
Gender equality was certainly on the mind of world leaders at this year's World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland. The Forum’s Women Leaders and Gender Parity Programme organised a number of gender-focused sessions, at which PwC played a key role. Dennis Nally, Chairman of PwC International, acted as a challenger on CNBC's panel debate "The Gender Agenda: Why Sex Matters". Dennis Nally, Nick Kristof, columnist at the New York Times, and Laura Tyson, Professor of Business at UC Berkeley, also acted as challengers. They engaged teams made up of senior executives from Bain & Company, The Coca-Cola Company, Facebook, Renault-Nissan Alliance, WPP — and thought leaders such as Arianna Huffington.
The debate centred on the question: With men at the helm of most large companies, could the key to gender equality lie in convincing male CEOs their companies will perform better with more women at the top?
