Fundacion Paraguaya : Rural development: Paraguay

Fundacion Paraguaya promotes entrepreneurship in three ways: A microfinance programme; an economic education programme for children; and an agricultural high school. Building on the work undertaken by the Ulysses team in 2005, PwC was asked to develop a strategy and business plan for the organisation for the medium term (2006-2008). The institution was keen to develop a plan to allow it to grow in a sustainable way and improve existing organisational structures and operations.

Ciudad Saludable : Local economic development through SME promotion and waste management: Peru

The aim of Ciudad Saludable is to spread their micro-enterprise model of community based, self-sustaining organisations which collect waste and recycle all possible materials. In this, the second Ulysses project with Ciudad Saludable, PwC was asked to create a business plan for the organisation to develop at a local and international level — making recommendations on the strategic, development, marketing and fundraising dimensions. During their time in Peru the Ulysses team also arranged a community cleanup day.
