Argentina: Variation in transfer prices – customs and transfer pricing implications

Tax Insights ()

In the light of the current exchange regulations in Argentina, it is important to highlight that significant increases or reductions in import or export prices may be considered as an infraction by the Customs Authorities (Dirección General de Aduanas). Moreover, the Argentine Customs Authorities exchange information with the Argentine Tax Authorities (AFIP) and, therefore, Customs might report a variation to AFIP. It is important that any significant increase or decrease in import or export prices be properly supported by background documentation, in accordance with current regulations relating to the customs value of the goods.
