EU Commission launches public consultation on double non-taxation of companies within the EU and in relations with non-EU countries

On 29 February 2012, the EU Commission launched a public “fact-finding” consultation on the double non-taxation of companies within the EU and in relations with non-EU countries. The consultation will consider various angles, including legislative approaches (i.e. closing loopholes and stopping mismatches); increased information measures (e.g. rules on disclosure to the tax authorities); and good governance rules (e.g. soft law agreements between Member states.
