Working environment
Over the last several years, greater demands have been placed on PricewaterhouseCoopers people as the result of expanding regulatory requirements and the rising expectations of our clients and the public at large. In response PricewaterhouseCoopers has invested in new ways to support its people and recognise their contributions.
For example, PricewaterhouseCoopers China has implemented a programme called We Care, which provides PricewaterhouseCoopers people with a review of their compensation, additional days off, reimbursement of physical well-being and medical costs, more-flexible working hours, higher travel allowances and retention bonuses, and recognition awards such as outings and sponsored evenings for staff and their families.
Similar programmes have been launched by many PricewaterhouseCoopers firms, worldwide. PricewaterhouseCoopers Spain’s Life! programme, launched a year ago, includes measures to improve physical well-being, social interaction, reward and recognition and overall work / life balance. In 2005, the programme was expanded in support of telecommuting and leave of absences from the firm.
Our people’s appreciation of these initiatives is reflected by rising response rates and satisfaction scores in PricewaterhouseCoopers staff surveys. Almost 50,000 people responded to our 2005 global people survey in which all key measures of performance showed improvement.
