Case study: International producer of corrugated cellulose-bitumen sheets

The issue

Our client, a international producer of corrugated cellulose, was considering the divestiture of their business comprising ten manufacturing sites worldwide. PricewaterhouseCoopers was asked to perform environmental and safety risks due diligence.

Our approach

PricewaterhouseCoopers' environmental health and safety due diligence specialists:

  • Undertook on-site visits to seven of the company’s manufacturing plants, and, for the remaining three sites, performed risk analysis using a survey questionnaire and telephone interviews
  • Reviewed the potential site-specific safety and environmental risks associated with non-compliance issues
  • Reviewed the potential liabilities related to previous closures of other company manufacturing sites.

The outcome

With the analysis provided by the PricewaterhouseCoopers team, the client was able to provide the appropriate and complete due diligence information to prospective purchasers. Moreover the analysis was carried out quickly and efficiently.
