Carbon accounting in the value chain

The Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol’s new voluntary standards allow companies to measure and manage more of their carbon emissions. The Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) and Product Life Cycle accounting and reporting standards cover emissions that exist along a company's entire value chain.

Emissions defined in these standards can represent some of the largest sources of emissions and supply chain costs for many companies. With these standards, companies will be able to cut emissions, waste and costs.
