Standardising processes, improving performance
Taking a fresh look at the way IT is delivered and designed is critical if costs are to be taken out of council's budgets and service standards maintained or enhanced during the public sector recession and forthcoming Spending Review. It is a chance in a generation to modernise, rather than make draconian cuts to services. This investment need not be significant and many councils are finding ways to fund this type of transformation themselves, while releasing longer term benefits and operational savings.
