Gold maintains its strong showing in 2009: PwC survey
Even the recession could not keep the price of gold from maintaining its strong showing in 2009, holding a value over US$1,000 since early October. According to the annual PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Gold Price Survey, the year saw an average upwards of US$959 with prices ranging between US$812 and peaking at over US$1,200 in early December.

IPO funds raised in 2009 to reach HK$70 billion
PricewaterhouseCoopers predicted that funds raised through new IPOs will be HK$70 billion in 2009, slightly above the figure in 2008 of HK$66 billion. With the fiscal stimulus programmes in place, the firm believes that the China and Hong Kong economies may be stabilised in the second half of 2009.
