Welcome to the first edition of Construction and housebuilding M&A insights 2007. This report reviews the sector's economic landscape and summarises M&A activity in three key sub-sectors - construction services, housebuilding and building products - in the fifteen months to 31 March 2007.

Most excitement has recently centred on UK housebuilding with some major M&A manoeuvres dominating the agenda. There has also been considerable activity in construction services and building products, with international players particularly hungry for UK building materials concerns as the sector continues its global consolidation.
