Jim Forbes is PwC’s leading steel expert and is the global metals leader. Jim has carried out numerous metals engagements in Canada, the United States, Europe, Mexico, South America, Australia, the Middle East and Russia. He has experience in mining, primary production/smelting and value added production.
He has written or co-written numerous articles and has been extensively quoted in the media around the world. He has made numerous presentations on the steel industry in North America, South America, Australia, Middle East, Europe, Carribean and China. Jim joined PwC in 1981 after graduating from McMaster University, and joined the Hamilton’s Financial Advisory Services Group in 1983.
He holds the following designations, Chartered Accountant-Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants, 1983,Chartered Business Valuator – Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators, 1998, Certified Fraud Examiner – National Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, 1993.
Since obtaining partnership in 1991, Jim’s practise consists primarily of the following: Business Valuations, Litigation Support Services, Insurance Claims, Forensic Accounting, Restructuring Services, and Merger and Acquisition Services. In addition, over the past 10 years, Jim has been part of PwC’s Latin America Restructuring team which has worked extensively with Lending Syndicates in the restructuring of major steel companies in Mexico and Venezuela.
