Frank is the PwC Central and Eastern Europe Advisory Leader for metals and mining. Throughout his career in consulting, Frank has worked extensively with leading metals and mining companies in Western and Eastern Europe, Russia/CIS, and Africa. He has also spent 4 years as a management board member for a major producer of steel and steel products in the CIS.
Frank specializes in operational improvement and strategy in metals and mining. His expertise covers the whole value chain from extraction (open pit and underground) and ore processing, to smelting and rolling, including production support functions, such as maintenance and logistics. He worked on projects covering a wide range of minerals, including coal, iron ore, gold, platinum, copper, zinc, nickel, phosphate and others.
Frank received a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Dortmund, Germany (1997), and held a Feodor-Lynen research fellowship at the Columbia University in New York (1998-2000). He is fluent in English, Russian, and German.
