In this issue, we look at new opportunities that are arising in some familiar areas that already represent well-trodden terrain for the industry. With this aim in mind, we offer three articles that examine revenue opportunities in channels or markets that operators are already in or are exploring, but where they may not yet have quite the right focus or strategies. We complement these revenue-oriented articles with two that focus on the costs side of the business.
All five articles are united in reflecting two further industry trends. Firstly, they all touch on the value and importance of collaboration. Secondly, they all highlight the potential of a ‘virtuous circle’ of spending. Spending makes innovative new services possible, and the resulting revenues support the developing of more new services - which lead to further revenues.
