As the Physician leader in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Dr. Simon Samaha's mission is to grow and develop PwC's healthcare practice by building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients. Dr. Samaha brings a wealth of healthcare experience developing strategies in areas such as physician alignment, e-health, and restructuring with the ability to support implementation across the value chain and across borders.

Dr. Samaha has 15 years of experience practicing medicine and running healthcare provider organisations in the US, serving in a variety of operational, strategic, business development, and information technology roles, achieving significant accomplishments in the turn-around of organisations.

Before joining PwC, Dr. Samaha was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Summit Medical Group, the largest independently operated, multi-specialty medical practice in New Jersey, USA. Summit was an early adoptor of electronic health records and e-prescribing. While there, Dr. Samaha drove growth and income and implemented a pilot programme that brought together and coordinated various components of patient care, while reducing costs. Under Dr. Samaha's stewardship, Summit was named as one of the "Fifty Fastest Growing Companies" in the state by NJBiz Magazine and has a national award-winning customer service program.

Prior to joining Summit, Dr. Samaha held various roles at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, USA including Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. In this role, he oversaw the 375-member University Physicians Practice and most clinical departments, including information technology, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, and quality programs. He also led the selection and implementation of electronic health records for inpatients, outpatients, and the ancillary departments including electronic storage and management of digital medical images and result reporting. He also restructured back-office and clinical delivery with a focus on disease based practice.

Dr. Samaha earned his MBA at New York University Stern School of Business, USA, his MS in Information Systems at Drexel University, USA, and his MD at Saint Joseph University in Lebanon. He is board certified in internal medicine. Dr. Samaha is also a frequent guest lecturer to MBA students at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and New York University's Stern School of Business, both in the United States.
