D&I Leader, Sweden: Catarina Ericsson

Catarina is Vice President at PwC Sweden, responsible for leadership development, corporate responsibility and diversity.  Prior to this, Catarina was the Assurance Leader for a few years.   The majority of her current assignments are within the financial sector. Prior to joining PwC, Catarina was a systems programmer at a nuclear power plant.

Catarina has three children, all of who are active in sports. “I have spent many hours in sport courts and it is amazing to see how the right leader can inspire children to work hard and do their best, and how fast another leader can demotivate a team and destroy the team spirit,” she says.

Her advice to other women at PwC is to focus on being responsible for client work and relationships at least for part of the deliverables as soon as possible in their development. “When you have acceptance in the market it is easier to take on leadership roles within the firm,” she says.

“I believe that diverse teams are more creative, inspiring and make better decisions than homogeneous teams.”
