Global Mobility

PwC's Global Mobility Programme not only boosts the delivery of increasingly high-quality services to clients but also develops the skills and international perspective of our people. At the end of FY 2011, some 3,400 partners and staff from PwC member firms in over 100 countries were posted internationally on short and long-term transfers or assignments.

These secondments enable our network to achieve specific business objectives, help us develop our people and reflect our people's aspirations and choices. The total number of international transfers across the PwC network is rising steadily year on year, as the annual investment in the mobility programme increases.

Developing tomorrow's leaders

We cannot foresee tomorrow's world, but we're convinced that the most effective way to prepare for the future is to identify potential leaders and provide them with the tools they will need to take the organisation forward—whatever the challenges.

One noteworthy global initiative we launched in 2001 illustrates the value that fostering multicultural development creates for both PwC and individual participants: Genesis Park is an accelerated leadership development programme that turns top talent Senior Managers/Directors into future global leaders by expanding their creativity, problem-solving skills and cultural dexterity. Through real work and real life experiences, not "role-play", as well as real-time coaching, participants better understand their strengths and weaknesses as leaders, equipping them to meet the real challenges of global leadership and working on cross-border teams.

The programme, whose main focus is a 10-week residential session, draws participants from around the world to take part in this intense, unique and transformational learning journey. Each session of the programme is delivered in a different country, allowing the participants to engage with the local practice, culture and economy.
