Helene von Roeder, CEO of Germany, Austria and CEE of Credit Suisse, Germany

Since September 2014 Helene von Roeder has been Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Credit Suisse Germany Austria and Central Europe. She is responsible for the bank’s Investment Banking, Private Banking & Wealth Management activities in the region. Prior to joining Credit Suisse Helene von Roeder has worked for Morgan Stanley in Germany for 10 years. She began her professional career at Deutsche Bank and UBS. Helene von Roeder has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and has advised a vast number of corporates during successful transactions. She holds a degree in astrophysics from Munich university and Cambridge university.

"If you ask me how business can address these challenges to pursue better resilience and long-term success, I do believe that the German system of a stakeholder rather than a shareholder economy offers a pretty good answer. As we're looking at balancing the interests of different stakeholders, we avoid optimisation of one shareholder group versus the others. And I strongly believe that if you leave people behind, you will lead and create uncertainty and unrest."
