Interview with Jan Johansson

CEO Svenska Cellulosa AB (SCA)

If you look at the recruitment market in some countries today in Western Europe, then of course there is a challenge because of the elderly population and the lack of young people coming onto the market.

Consumers living in big cities anywhere in the world tend to have the same preferences and the same way of acting which means that you can use the same tools all over the world. So, urban centres are becoming more and more important from a marketing perspective, from an innovation perspective and in terms of product placement.

On the employee side, young people Google me before they accept a job in the company. They take references not from a system but from the social networks. They look at ethical issues, the sustainability work of the company. We are being tested as much as we are testing them.

GDP is too blunt an instrument: you have to drill down and see what is and what is not driving that GDP.
