Corporate governance – towards best-practice reporting

In the wake of the financial crisis governance reporting is a real opportunity to build the confidence of investors and other stakeholders and therefore company value. It's not just about confidence in the financial statements. It is about confidence in the company in general. And it's about showing how the company's business model, strategy and objectives, risk, performance and reward are governed.

Corporate governance - towards best-practice reporting was published in association with the London Stock Exchange in September 2012 as part of its guide to corporate governance for main market and AIM companies. The author is John Patterson, a PwC UK consultant on corporate governance matters. Although the guide is aimed at UK listed companies the principles of good corporate governance have global relevance.
