Standard setters and regulators around the world spell out many detailed requirements for corporate reporting, but they rarely show you what good reporting looks like in practice.
This area of our website will show you what effective reporting actually looks like and point out how specific elements meet investors' needs. It contains our complete collection of real good practice examples, covering many different companies and industries world wide. The examples are refreshed four or five times a year.
We have concentrated mainly on communications contained in annual reports since this is a core set of information that is most familiar to users and preparers. A number of our examples are also drawn from sustainability reports, websites and investor/analyst presentations, but only where these reports supplement areas noted as important in the annual report.
The information is free; we ask only that you register (see below) before accessing the full catalogue.
When you do, you can search for examples by:
For each example (which is an extract from a real report), there is a snapshot view of why we think it is good practice and further insight is given in commentary boxes.
Examples can be viewed on screen or downloaded in PDF format for printing.
