Turkey: Amendment to real estate acquisition limits for foreign citizens

The list of countries covered by the Real Estate Reciprocity Law has been amended by the Turkish Parliament, and officials will no longer inquire about property acquisition rules in a foreign citizen’s home country.

Under Parliamentary Decision No. 28296, which was promulgated in the Official Gazette and brought into effect on 18 May 2012, guidelines for foreign citizens allowed to acquire property in Turkey have been updated and the Council of Ministers has been granted authority over the list of eligible countries.
