The second quarter 2009 mergers and acquisitions analysis reports that while deal activity has remained weak on a year-over-year basis, there was an uptick in both deal value and volume when viewed on a quarterly basis. In the second quarter of 2009, 27 deals were announced, nearly double the 15 deals announced in the prior quarter. And, total deal value jumped to $9 million in the first quarter, compared to the $3 million announced in the first quarter of 2009.
