The deal doldrums of 2009 and early 2010 were gradually replaced by a modest deal uplift during the course of the year. While European companies mostly lowered their acquisition sights, focusing on smaller deals than in previous years, deal values were boosted by a bounce-back in US deal activity. we predicted the ending of the deal stalemate in the US and we have seen that translated into a renewed US deal flow that looks set to continue into 2011.
