An update on the ongoing debate regarding the introduction of the Financial Transaction Tax ("FTT"). The document reviews the principal developments which have taken place since the release of the draft EU directive, assesses the current position of the EU member states towards the proposal, comments on its practical implications if introduced and finally comments on what direction it might take in the future.
